OGA Dota PIT is returning to Europe/CIS for a third season this year
Initially scheduled as a Minor from the Dota Pro Circuit season, the tournament had to be reformed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which seems to be working for the organizers. Main tournament is starting on Wednesday with 4 amazing opening matches.
Team Nigma @ 1.55
Top CIS squad FlyToMoon just got picked up by famous organization Natus Vincere, and from now one they will be representing yellow and black colors. Again, Nigma is coming up to this tournament with a stand-in on position 5. Their coach rmN- will play instead their captain Kuroky. Two months ago, that didn’t mean anything to Nigma, as they won Season 2 of the same tournament with the same lineup. Nigma are slight favourites here, but let’s not count NaVi out. Even though they are looking really bad currently, and they are coming out of 2 hard losses vs 5men and Cyber Legacy, FlyToMoon or NaVi are always hard opponents. If V-Tune gets his carry heroes, he can be a real force to be reckoned with. My pick here is Nigma to win the match.
Team Secret -1.5 @ 1.40
VP.Prodigy hasn’t had any official matches for quite some time now. And they are entering this tournament with 2 stand-in players. gpk and Lil will standin for fn and eine. This means 40% of VP.Prodigy’s main lineup is missing, which is not good for them. I doubt that with this lineup they can be a threat to some teams. Especially not Team Secret. Secret are the biggest favourites to take this championship. Can this be 8 in a row for them? Let’s see, but I believe it can. Puppey won’t give up easily on this, and I’m sure Secret will take this match. There is a pretty high chance that they can do it with a clean 2-0 result.
Team Liquid @ 1.31
Liquid and 5men are facing each other again after 3 weeks. Their last clash was in the OMEGA League Immortal division where Liquid took a 2-0 win. I would say, since then 5men have improved a lot as a squad. They’ve managed to get into this tournament throughout the closed qualifiers where they’ve beaten Vikin.gg and NiP quite easily. However, Liquid is a team on another level from those two mentioned. Liquid are big favourites here, and if they don’t win that match it will be a big surprise for us all. On the other side, with their recent performance 5men are capable of taking a map off Liquid and surprise them for sure. The safest bet here would be to go Liquid to win the match, in case you can find decent odds for yourself.
Alliance @ 1.57
After finishing 2nd in the recent OMEGA League, right behind Team Secet, OG has a hard task in front of them now. They are entering this tournament without Topson (who became a dad a few days ago). Their French coach Sockshka will be a stand-in for this tournament. This is a huge blow to them, and even though Ceb and midone are highly capable of pushing this team far away in this tournament, the double elimination bracket system won’t help them too much. In round 1 they are facing a decent Alliance team with NikoBaby at the helm. This is a really hard match to bet on, since it will be interesting to see how a slightly changed OG lineup will work out. Alliance played decently in the OMEGA League, and I do think they can continue their performance here. For this match, they are favourites to me.
