IEM Beijing: Vitality vs. Natus Vincere

Vitality (1.79)

Vitality have made final after final but they have yet to lift a trophy this year, and they will get yet another shot at the title here against Natus Vincere. The interesting part about this one is the addition of Nivera, who they will be able to utilize on Dust2 and Inferno, both of which will likely come into play in this matchup. Since they brought in Nivera, their Inferno has been flawless, winning four out out four games played on this map. These games were against top tier opposition as well, beating Heroic, BIG, Spirit and MAD Lions. Their Dust2 has also looked solid, having beaten BIG twice since Nivera joined the team. Assuming that the teams stick to their usual perma-bans, both Train and Vertigo should get banned here. These are both the two best maps for each team in terms of overall win rate, but Vitality should benefit from this the most. Train is one of NaVi’s most picked maps in the pool, while Vertigo is more of a counter-pick for Vitality. With this in mind, Vitality should be a slight favourite here over NaVi.

IEM Beijing: Chaos vs. Triumph

Chaos (1.42)

Well, this certainly isn’t the final that most people would have expected. Both Liquid and Evil Geniuses were eliminated in the semis, giving us a grand final between Chaos and Triumph. These two teams have faced off twice this year, with Chaos coming out on top on both occasions. With the exception of a 16-3 win by Triumph on Inferno, these series have been lopsided, with Triumph failing to get to 10 rounds on every other map. This Triumph team tend to do better than you would expect, but I can’t help but feel that Junior will have to go beast mode in order for them to win this BO5 against a Chaos side that, quite frankly, is a better team.
