We break down two of today's matches in IEM Beijing.
MAD Lions Map 1 (2.30) or MAD Lions +1.5 (1.57)
MAD Lions have looked good recently, but they will now truly be tested in this matchup with Vitality. While Vitality are deserved favourites, there is definitely some upset potential on the side of MAD Lions. The fact that Dust2 is their perma-ban sets up well against Vitality, and their Nuke and Vertigo game has been strong enough to consider taking the dog in this matchup.
G2 Map 2 (1.47) or NiP Map 1 (2.31)
Most of G2’s success so far with NiKo have been on Dust2 and Nuke, and they will get to play at least one of these here against NiP. The Swedes are so atrocious on these maps that I pretty much never mind betting against them when Nuke and Dust2 is on the cards. However, I do think that NiP have some upset potential on their map choice. They are a tricky team, and it is hard for G2 to prepare for them here. Train and Overpass have been two of NiP’s most solid maps in the pool, while the opposite can be said for G2.
