NiP v Team Spirit

Ninjas in Pyjamas (1.46)

Ninjas in Pyjamas are coming into this game on the back of a 2-0 demolition of the former world No. 1 team in Astralis to open the ESL Pro League. The confidence that exudes into a team is often understated. NiP have won four of their last five matches, which includes victories against Cloud9 and BIG as well.

Spirit are ranked No. 27 in the world. They are an upcoming team, with plenty of talent. However, they might not have the depth or the experience to beat NiP here. That was evident the last time these two teams met, at the ESL Pro League Season 9 last year. NiP won both maps comfortably (16-7 in Overpass and 16-12 in Inferno).

Astralis v Godsent

Map handicap: Astralis -1.5 (1.54)

Astralis will be hurting. It hasn’t been a great start to the year for them after a sensational 2019. They lost their world No. 1 ranking to S1mple and Natus Vincere, and started off this ESL Pro League with a loss to NiP to exacerbate their problems. Despite their lack of form, the class and skill is still there.

The unfortunate recipients of Astralis’ plausible wrath will be Godsent, who are a solid team but don’t quite have the same level of depth to compete with the world No. 2 team. Considering the importance of this match, it’s hard to see Godsent winning a map.

Team Vitality v ENCE

Correct score in maps: 2-1 to Vitality (3.00)

It’s understandable why ENCE have fallen down the pecking order in CS:GO in the last few weeks. They are coming into this fixture with five straight losses, and a subsequent slip down to No. 22 in the world rankings. Vitality, led by Zywoo, have moved up to No. 10 in the world.

However, these two sides are much closer than the odds suggest, form aside. These two have played each other in 18 maps, with Vitality winning 11 of them. In their previous meeting, Vitality beat ENCE 2-1 in the DreamHack Masters in Malmo last year (16-10 in Dust2, 11-16 in Nuke and 16-14 in Inferno). That could be repeated again.
