The quarter-finals of the IEM Fall 2021 Europe is here. Two of them will be played on Friday, including G2 and Astralis. Here is a look at some predictions from those two matches.
Astralis have lost their position as one of the top five CS:GO teams in the world. They have undergone significant personnel changes to their roster, which has undoubtedly been a reason for their drop down to No. 8 in the current CS:GO rankings. However, they have a massive rankings mismatch in this game against No. 25 Fiend, a team that is steady but nowhere close to the level of some other teams in the world, including Astralis, who are now on a five-match winning streak.
Magisk and Dupreeh continue to dominate the core of the offensive line-up in Astralis. Magisk has managed 0.68 kills and 0.67 deaths per round in the last three months of CS:GO action but it has been Dupreeh, who has led the offensive production for Astralis with 0.70 kills and 0.62 deaths in the same time period. Bubzkji has not quite found the same level as he had in teams previously, but his best is not far away. Lucky will continue to be relied on to keep his death rate low (currently at 0.58 in the same time period).
G2 Esports (1.63)
ENCE have bounced up and down the CS:GO rankings for a while now. Currently at No. 13, ENCE have managed to stay consistent in the last few months of action. However, they will also be up against one of the best teams in the world right now in G2 Esports. After the acquisition of Niko from Faze, G2 Esports have been in excellent form and have moved up to No. 4 in the rankings. They have won their last two matches and four of their last five as well.
Niko will be the standout performer for G2 again. He has been in splendid form, with 0.80 kills per round in the last three months of CS:GO action along with just 0.62 deaths. Hunter has also managed to stay consistent, which is how G2 have managed to stay abreast with the rest of the world. He has chipped in with 0.72 kills per round.
