s1mple takes on ZywOo in a clash of the titans. We break down Natus Vincere vs. Vitality and more in today's daily betting tips.
Vitality Map 1 (1.89) or Vitality +1.5 (1.31)
Vitality and Natus Vincere have faced off two times this year, winning one game apiece. Natus Vincere bombed out of ESL One: Road to Rio CIS and outside of some flashes of brilliance from s1mple, they looked atrocious. Vitality lost out to G2 in the playoffs of ESL One: Road to Rio, but they looked decent before that, taking down teams like fnatic, NiP, Complexity and GODSENT. Interestingly, Dust2 and Inferno have been the exact maps played in their last three meetings between these two teams, and it is pretty likely that we end up on the same set of maps again. Inferno has been terrible for Natus Vincere since we transitioned over to online play, with a 25% win rate over eight maps. Their only two wins on this map came against Espada and pro100, not exactly top tier opposition. I think Vitality are definitely favored to take at least a map in this series.
fnatic Map 2 (1.87)
Both fnatic and FaZe have looked a bit suspect recently. FaZe are still trying to adjust to life without olofmeister, while fnatic have failed to impress against inferior competition. coldzera mentioned in a recent interview that Bymas has, unsurprisingly, been slotted into olofmeister’s CT positions. Bymas has actually looked pretty good so far, all things considered, but this still is far from optimal. FaZe will likely stick to their permaban of Vertigo in the map veto, which means that fnatic will likely choose to ban either Mirage or Dust2. Regardless of how you slice it, both teams should get a map pick where they have an edge on their opponent. As mentioned, FaZe will likely get to play Dust2 or Mirage where they definitely have the upper hand, while the Swedes will likely opt for Inferno or Overpass, two maps that FaZe have struggled with. I think FaZe definitely won’t be too affected by the stand-in situation on a map like Dust2 or Mirage, but I definitely like fnatic’s chances on a map like Overpass or Inferno which requires more set strategies and coordination.
Over 2.5 Maps (1.87)
This is a hard one to call. Evil Geniuses are coming in as the favorite here despite their poor form, losing four out of their last five games. Gen.G got styled on by 100 Thieves in their most recent match, but they looked very strong before that, with wins against Cloud9, EG and FURIA. Both teams should get a set of maps where they are comfortable, so this could easily end up going the distance.
