We break down some of today's action in DreamHack Masters.
BIG 1st Map +2.5 (1.72)
MAD Lions haven’t played an official since March, while BIG have been on the grind. There is no doubt that MAD Lions are the more fundamentally sound team, but I would not surprised to see them get off to a slow start, especially if BIG take a chance on a map like Dust2. Bizarrely, most of MAD Lions’ star players have failed to deliver on Dust2, and they have had to rely on AcilioN to lead from the front instead, which doesn’t bode well for them against a BIG side that has enough skill to really push them hard on this map.
Complexity 1st Map +3.5 (1.68)
mousesports have been in poor form recently, but this is an elite team that has been together for a long time, and I would expect them to get back on their feet sooner or later. However, I do think Complexity has some upset potential here against mousesports. It seems likely that Complexity will choose to go for a map like Mirage in this one, while Train seems like the most reasonable map choice for mousesports. Complexity will have a serious chance at an upset on Mirage, but Train is a lot more questionable. They have actually won their last four games on this map, with blameF having some insane performances, but they have struggled against elite competition, losing to NaVi, NiP, ENCE and Astralis. We could definitely see Dust2 as a potential decider, and while this is a great map for mousesports, Complexity does have a few notable upsets on Dust2, including a win against Astralis.
MIBR to win (1.48)
Chaos are coming off a crazy upset victory against Team Liquid, and they will hope to make it two in a row against MIBR. However, MIBR should really be the stronger team, and they will be desperate to get some points on the board here after their loss to FURIA.
