Blast Pro Series Semifinal: Faze Clan v Ninjas in Pyjamas

Ninjas in Pyjamas (2.37)

NiP are a new team now. They have struggled in recent times, but there is enough depth and quality in their roster to capitalise on an occasion as big as a semi-final of a Major Blast tournament. Plopski and F0rest have been in terrific form in the last few months, averaging more than 0.70 kills per round. Faze are no pushovers, and this match should go the distance, but NiP have a really strong chance of coming out on top in this best-of-three encounter.

Blast Pro Series Semifinal: Astralis v Team Liquid

Astralis (1.47)

Astralis are the world’s best CS:GO team in the world for a reason: consistency. They have been sensational right through the year, and will be desperate to end 2019 the same way they began. They have owned Team Liquid in CS:GO in the head-to-head, having won 50 of 69 maps they’ve played against each other. We don’t need to go too far into the past to find the dominant team. Astralis have won both games against Liquid in December, at the ECS Season 8 finals and in last week’s ESL Pro League Season 10 finals. Liquid may win a map, but not the match.

cs_summit 5: G2 Esports v Furia Esports

Furia Esports (2.34)

The odds are skewed too heavily in G2 Esports’ favour. Furia, an all-Brazilian team, are nowhere near a bad team. On the contrary, they are ranked higher than G2, at 13 in the world to G2’s No. 14 world ranking. Kscerato has been the standout performer for Furia, with 0.70 kills and 0.56 deaths per round, giving him an exceptionally high K/D ratio. In the head-to-head match-up, Furia are coming off two successive map wins against G2 (a 16-14 map win in Vertigo and Mirage) at the eighth season of the StarSeries i-League.

cs_summit 5: Mousesports v Virtus.pro

Mousesports (1.63)

The only reason the odds for Mousesports are as high as they are is because this is a best-of-one game, where the chances of the underdog winning increases significantly because of the shorter duration of the game. However, Mousesports own all the major factors to decide the outcome. Let’s start with ranking. Mousesports are ranked No. 5 in the world, compared to Virtus.pro’s 26. Form? Mousesports have won their last five games, while Virtus.pro have lost two of their previous four matches. Here’s the kicker: Mousesports have a better record in every CS:GO map in the last three months than Virtus.pro. So a best-of-one encounter may be redundant in any case.
