We break down two Brazilian matchups in ESL One: Road to Rio, as well as a close matchup between Dignitas and Heretics.
BOOM has a 5–1 record since picking up felps from MiBR, and I like them again here in a BO3 against Imperial. Anything can happen in the crazy world of online Counter-Strike, but this BOOM lineup is a level above the rest of the competition in the South American region and should have a solid edge against Imperial.
2nd map winner, incl. overtime (1.22)
MIBR are coming off a crushing loss in the finals of FLASHPOINT, but they should have a great shot at bouncing back with a win here against a very weak Yeah side. With Nuke and Vertigo likely to get banned, there aren’t too many ways that Yeah can make this uncomfortable for MIBR. Inferno and Train are likely to get played here, and even if Yeah attempts to throw MIBR by picking a map like Dust2, MIBR have shown good enough form that they will still be a significant underdog. There is a high chance that MIBR sweep this series, and they will have a particularly big edge on Train.
Over 2.5 maps (1.86)
Dignitas can finally play with Hallzerk again who was forced to withdraw from the team during FLASHPOINT due to visa issues. This should be a hotly contested match against a Heretics team that looks solid on paper, with Nivera being the most exciting player on the team. While Dignitas did lose to LDLC recently, I could see them making this close.
