fnatic have announced the signing of Alex “ALEX” McMeekin and William “mezii” Merriman. The move was made following the removal of Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Maikil “Golden” Selim, and sees fnatic transition to an international roster.

“After the first careful consideration, we decided that our best way forward would be to adopt an international lineup to ensure our purpose and vision would best be met,” said Andreas “Samuelsson” Samuelsson, coach of fnatic.

The organisation hopes and believes that the new direction will catapult them back into the top flight after a severe drop to number 60 in HLTV’s world rankings. As expected, ALEX will take over Golden’s position as the in-game leader of the squad, while mezii has been picked up for his versatile qualities.

The British duo will look to prove themselves after their short stint on Cloud9, a team that quickly came crashing down despite big aspirations by the management.

With the addition of ALEX and mezii, fnatic’s roster now looks as follows:

  • 🇸🇪 Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
  • 🇸🇪 Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin
  • 🇸🇪 Jack “Jackinho” Ström Mattsson
  • 🇬🇧 Alex “ALEX” McMeekin
  • 🇬🇧 William “mezii” Merriman
