This quarter final knockout stage will be held from October 22nd to October 25th. It’s getting interesting now since teams are fighting for the World Championship title and 1st place prize pool of $489,500. First quarter final match is kicking off on Friday. Here are our predictions for all 4 quarter final matches.

T1 vs Hanwha Life Esports - October 22nd 23:00

T1 @ 1.30

T1 is a team that had the 2nd best win-loss % in the group stages. With 5 wins and 1 loss, they have won their group B in front of Edward Gaming. T1 with their midlander Faker are just scary. Having one of the best players in the world in their lineup is scary, and affects the mentality of their opponents that are facing them. Faker in good form is just unbeatable, and their opponents know that. From all of the quarter final matches, we do think this is the most straightforward one, as T1 are a clean favourites here. Hanwha doesn’t stand a chance here, in our opinion. Even though T1 barely beat Hanwha in the September LCK Regional Finals with 3-2, we do think this will be a different situation here. Higher stakes and Worlds are just T1’s home battlefield.

Royal Never Give Up vs Edward Gaming - October 23rd 23:00

Edward Gaming @ 1.76

This will be an epic clash between two teams that are among the favourites for the Worlds title since the start. Edward Gaming is 2nd favourite according to outright odds for the title, while Royal Never Give Up are 3rd favourite to win the title. Both teams have equal win-loss ratio in their groups, but let’s say Royal Never Give Up had a much stronger group, even though they ended up with 4 wins and 2 losses, same as Edward Gaming. Overall, throughout the season Edward Gaming are Chinese LPL champions, and they are favoured here to take this best of 5 series.

DAMWON Gaming vs MAD Lions - October 24th 23:00

DWG Kia @ 1.13

DAMWON Gaming are number 1 favourites to take the League of Legends World Championship trophy home this year. They are the only team that didn’t lose a single map in this competition so far. They are LCK Summer 2021 champions and they are 2020 World Championship winners. If not the best team in the world right now, surely among the top 3 teams. Anything other than DAMWON’s win here, would be a big surprise. MAD Lions, as European representatives, are a good team, but they are not on the level where they can handle attacks from a team like DAMWON. We do think that this is the end for LCS representatives here. They had a lot of luck for even being here.

Gen.G vs Cloud9 - October 25th 23:00

Gen.G @ 1.32

Cloud9 are the only American representatives in the quarter finals of the Worlds 2021. And they’ve barely made it here. With only 2 wins and 4 losses they had an equal win-loss ratio as Rogue and FunPlus Phoenix in their group A. In the roulette of tiebreakers in their group, Cloud9 were a stronger team than Rogue. On the other side, Gen.G are 1st place winners in the group D, a very stacked group where all teams finished with a 3-3 win-loss record. We doubt that Cloud9 will have the strength to be able to deal with a full Korean lineup like the Gen.G team has. Cloud9 are big underdogs here, and only excellent performance from Perkz and his teammates can save them from defeat here.
